Permanent Jewellery
Frequently Asked Questions
What is permanent jewellery?
Permanent jewellery is custom-fitted jewellery that is welded directly onto you. No clasp, no fuss (although we do have the option to add a clasp if that's what you prefer). It’s a lasting piece that is designed to stay on all the time and often symbolises something meaningful like friendship, love, milestones or simply treating yourself.
How long does an appointment take?
Appointments are booked for 45 minutes. However the process often only takes about 15-20 minutes per person.
This gives you time to select your chain, add charms, get the perfect fit, and have your piece welded.
How much does it cost?
Pricing varies depending on the chain and any charms you select. You’ll pay a $50 deposit at the time of booking, which goes toward your total on the day. A full price list is available on our website.
Can I add a clasp?
Yes! If you’d like to be able to remove your jewellery, we can add a clasp for an additional cost. Just let us know at your appointment and we'll customise it for you.
Where are you located?
We operate from a private studio in Girraween, NT and also attend pop-up events across Darwin. The exact address is sent upon booking.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Studio Appointments:
We do not accept walk-ins at our studio. Bookings are essential to ensure a personalised and timely experience.
Pop-Up Events:
For pop-up events, we operate on a walk-in only basis and do not take bookings.
What if I’m late?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you’re running late. Arrivals over 15 minutes late may result in a shortened appointment or rescheduling, which may affect your deposit.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
You can reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice or no-shows will forfeit the deposit.
Do you offer repairs or re-welding?
Yes! We offer a 30 day complimentary warranty for any breakage at the weld point (as long as you followed care instructions and still have the chain). Outside of this period, re-welding costs $30.
Lost or damaged chains are not covered under warranty and may require full replacement.
When might I need to remove permanent jewellery?
You may need to remove your jewellery in some of the following situations:
- During medical procedures or MRI scans.
- For surgeries or X-rays (your doctor will advise).
- If you develop a skin reaction or irritation.
- For certain workplace safety requirements or contact sports.
How do I remove my permanent jewellery at home?
While your chain is welded closed, it can be safely removed at home by using small wire cutters or strong scissors. Simply cut the jump ring (the small ring where the chain was welded together), not the chain itself. Especially if you'd like it rewelded later.
Who is permanent jewellery not suitable for?
Permanent jewellery may not be suitable if:
- You have sensitive skin or known metal allergies.
- You frequently undergo medical scans, MRIs, or surgeries.
- You’re under 13 years old (we do not offer permanent jewellery for this age group. However we do have the option to add a clasp).
Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If permanent jewellery isn’t the right fit for you, we offer all of our chain styles with a clasp instead, so you can still enjoy the look without the commitment.
Can I shower or swim with my permanent jewellery?
Yes! Our chains are made with high-quality, tarnish-resistant materials like 14k gold-filled and sterling silver. However, exposure to harsh chemicals, chlorine, sunscreen, or perfumes may affect the finish over time. Gently care for your jewellery to help it last longer.
How do I care for my permanent jewellery?
Your permanent jewellery is designed to be worn every day, but a little care goes a long way in keeping it looking its best. Here are our top tips:
1. Keep it clean
Gently clean your jewellery with mild soap and water, especially after swimming, sweating, or using products like sunscreen, perfumes, or lotions. You can use a soft brush (such as a toothbrush) to get into the grooves. Once dry, you can polish your jewellery with a polishing cloth.
2. Be mindful of chemicals
Avoid direct exposure to harsh chemicals like chlorine, cleaning products, saltwater and some beauty products, as they may dull or damage the finish over time.
3. Wear with care
While our chains are durable, they’re still delicate. Try to avoid pulling, tugging, or catching your jewellery on clothing or bags.
4. Give it a shine
Use a jewellery polishing cloth occasionally to bring back your chain’s natural shine. Especially for sterling silver, which may darken slightly over time.
Even though it’s “permanent,” life happens. We offer re-welding services if your chain comes off and you still have it, or clasp options if you need more flexibility.
Do you offer private events or group bookings?
Yes! We love being part of weddings, hens parties, birthdays and more! Get in touch with us to arrange private or group bookings, including pop-up services at your event.
